St Petersburg, summer 2016

A visit to St Petersburg in the summer was everything we hoped for and more.  It is a city that holds your attention with its magnificent architecture.  A city steeped in history.  With treasures to behold in the State Hermitage Museum and not enough time to visit all the museums, it is on the list for a return visit.

It is almost impossible to choose favourite works within the collection at the State Hermitage Museum but high on my list is The Peacock Clock, an automated clock made in Great Britain by James Cox in 1791/1792 and Crouching Boy, a sculpture by Michelangelo.

Anne and Bob travelled to the Baltic Capitals and Stockholm Archipelago in summer 2016.
